Westfield malls reopen

Westfield Sarasota Square and Westfield Southgate, two Sarasota County malls that had closed in the face of Tropical Storm Fay, are reopening for business as usual with this region apparently dodging any significant effects.

"Fortunately the Sarasota area does not appear to be vulnerable to Tropical Storm Fay's path," Westfield said. "As a result, management for Westfield Sarasota Square and Westfield Southgate have made the decision to open the shopping centers today for regular business hours."
