VENICE - Detectives hope surveillance pictures help them solve a doughnut shop burglary.

A man wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a white baseball cap broke into Yummies Donuts on Monday night, authorities said. Detectives did not say whether the man stole anything, but he was filmed looking into a surveillance camera outside the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 861-1719.

Man is accused of molesting girl, 14

SARASOTA COUNTY -- An 18-year-old molested and took nude photographs of a sleeping girl, authorities said.

Sean Walter McCauley was charged late Thursday with lewd and lascivious molestation after the girl, 14, and her father came to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office with the photographs.

He was being held in jail without bail.

Deputies report finding a grow house

SARASOTA COUNTY -- Deputies said they found 75 marijuana plants at a home in the 7100 block of Bee Ridge Road.

Authorities went to the house in March after a woman died of an overdose. Inside a detached garage, investigators say Alan Michael Rhyelle was growing marijuana. In addition to the plants, he had about a pound of harvested marijuana in a safe, 10 grow lights and electrical ballasts, a report says.

Rhyelle, 62, was being held Friday without bail.
