Road rage leads to pepper spray attack

SARASOTA COUNTY - A 54-year-old man tried to run over two people during a road rage attack, swinging at the men with a club and eventually pepper-spraying their faces, authorities say.
Kevin J. Murphy got upset at about 11 p.m. Friday night, stopped his car in the 3900 block of Torrey Pines Boulevard and drove at the pedestrians, according to an arrest report.
Murphy then pulled out a wooden club, backed the duo up against a parked car and used pepper-spray to send them sprawling, the report says.
Murphy, charged with multiple felonies, was being held without bond in jail this morning.

They don't say what instigated the rage??? I suspect that these "innocent victims" instigated this incident, and they got the worse for it... I am sure that the whole story will come out...

My God, this is horrible. What caused him to get into such a rage?! And pepper spray?! What kind of man carries pepper spray aroud?! This whole story is just whack!

Exactly what do you base your theory that makes you suspect that the two who were attacked provoked the incident. Assuming you are correct, unless these two were threatening to harm Mr. Murphy, there is no excuse for his behavior. As far as I am concerned there is no reason to physically attack another unless one is defending against bodily harm.

That is what I am saying. People don't just go around spraying pepper spray without being provoked, unless they are CRAZY!!!! We don't hear anything about the man being mentally unstable. We hear about the man attacking. Sane people don't go about making unprovoked attacks... That's all. I just think we aren't getting the whole story...

he was in a car they weren't
he tried to run them down , got out of his car attacked them with a club and sprayed themso how did they instigate this to where he couldn't have dialed 911 and let the law take care of it ?
