FORT MYERS - Sarasota Out-of-Door Academy dominated Gateway Charter High winning, 30-21.

"We played well," said ODA head coach Brett Timmons, who feels his team is well-prepared to start district games next week.

On Friday night, the Thunder spoiled Gateway's homecoming largely through the efforts of A.J. Strong. He rushed for 133 yards on 19 carries, much of that coming on a 60-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter of the game.

Thunder quarterback Tony Gurry threw two touchdown passes, one to Brody Wiseman, the other to Chris Ragone. Gurry finished the night with six completions for 101 yards and three interceptions, however, the ODA defense was able to pick off four Gateway Christian passes.

The Thunder defense also recorded four sacks and virtually stopped the Griffins' running game.
